Our Philosophy
Hunt Community Child Care respects and acknowledges the indigenous Boon Wurrung- culture and
heritage of Bayside Community. We also incorporate into our program the Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander culture through play experiences for all children.
At Hunt CCC, we endeavour to create a setting in which children will find comfort and security. We
aim to provide children and families with an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, nurturing and
enjoyable.
We offer an abundance of opportunities for self-discovery in a supportive environment where
children’s needs and interests are valued and encouraged to develop to their full potential. Natural
environments are very important to us at Hunt CCC. We aim to provide children with natural
materials but also encompass bright colours to promote happiness, excitement and visual
engagement.
We endeavour to promote sustainable practices and encourage children to respect the
world we live in.
We are committed to being accessible to all families and believe all children have the right to be
treated equally and with respect, regardless of race, language, ability and gender.
Early education is fundamental for future learning. Our programs are designed to prepare children
for their transition to the wider community and support them to become confident, independent
active members of our society.
Our Centre Values
Wellbeing: we support children to develop self-esteem, and build a strong sense of well-being as
well as life skills. We provide children with confidence and optimism which maximise their learning
potential.
Diversity: we respect and embrace multiculturalism, diversity, difference and fairness. We promote
an inclusive practice in our Centre that encourages all children to be, belong and become in a diverse
world.
Natural environment: we create inclusive and engaging natural learning environments, both indoors
and outdoors, that inspire children to explore, create, play together and ignite their imaginations
and sense of discovery.
Community: we are a not-for-profit community-based childcare Centre. We build strong
relationships with our families and local community, and we believe effective communication is key
to positive partnerships with parents and carers.
Education: we believe children are capable and confident learners. We create rich and meaningful
educational programs through critically reflecting on our practices to ensure continuous
improvement.
OUR MISSION
We are committed to the delivery of a sound educational foundation for every child through our
high-quality community children’s service.
We will actively promote an ongoing learning and reflective practice with integrated teaching and
learning approaches and achievement of the desired learning outcomes by applying our knowledge
of how children learn through play.
